1L Bulk Liquid Culture

Welcome to the Liquid Culture Revolution: a whole new approach to commercial mushroom cultivation.

Liquid culture is Fungaia's specialty, and wholesale bulk culture is the heart of our business. We developed a unique, state-of-the-art packing system using top-of-the-line sterile medical I.V. bags. These bags cut down on the waste and processing time of syringes and all but eliminate contamination in the spawn production process.

Equipped with a female Luer Lock port and a self-healing injection port, you can use these bags to fill syringes of your own or connect to a peristaltic pump for dispensing into bags of pre-sterilized grain. (Stay tuned for updates about our upcoming release of REMIS: the Remarkably Efficient Mass Inoculation System, an integrated peristaltic dosing pump injection system.)

Filled to over 1,000 mL of pure liquid inoculum, each bag holds the equivalent of 100 standard culture syringes and can inoculate up to 1,000 pounds of grain spawn. (Although for best results we recommend using high doses of liquid culture. We find 2-4 mL per pound to be ideal.)

Each bag is brewed from scratch, one at a time. We begin with carefully selected agar plates, only using cultures which are clean, vigorous, healthy and in a state of active growth. Each bag is prepared from a separate batch of culture and undergoes redundant analysis to ensure its purity. All of our culture is guaranteed.

Bulk liquid culture is brewed-to-order and usually takes 3 weeks. We will begin your culture run as soon as we receive payment, and we'll reach out to give you an estimated production schedule. Depending on the status of the variety you choose, we may need to retrieve from backups, which adds about 2 weeks to the timeline.

Our bulk liquid culture bags come with a sterile 60mL syringe and a few needles so you can make use of them right away regardless of your setup.
